It’s a thrill to announce that our ambitious half-Million dollar Capital Improvements Campaign has been achieved! Steady donations combined with a $120,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation have propelled us to our goal in just 14 months. Some money, committed over a period of several years, is still to be collected but this is a fabulous achievement to herald in such a short time!
“Heeding the Call of the Carpenter” has been an inspiring theme for this campaign as Christ Church continues to green our building with energy efficiency upgrades and accessibility projects to benefit all those in the community. We have fixed our leaking roof and now move forward to construct an accessible lower level washroom, upgrade our windows with energy-efficient glass, install new accessible front doors to the Sanctuary, renovate existing washrooms to make them wheelchair accessible and repave our parking surfaces.
The campaign has seen two fabulous concerts, a Christmas Craft fair, the UCW Talent auction, an environmental e-Waste collection day, support from over half-a-dozen community groups and participation from more than 125 households within the congregation.
Christ Church is a vibrant community church which not only allows us to worship God, but gives us the ability to welcome and minister to a larger community in South Mississauga and we are breathing some new life into our building so that these missions can continue. Congratulations to everyone who has helped make this goal a reality. It is truly uplifting!
Sincerely,
The Capital Campaign Committee
