The Revelation to John

The book of Revelation is a message from God to Jesus the Christ.  He, in turn, sent it to John, who has made it known to all the churches.  What is revealed is information about the heavenly world that throws light on the events taking place in the present earthly world.  The book is filled with symbols, and they are not to be interpreted literally.  It is the truth behind the symbols that the book attempts to convey.

“After this I saw, and there in heaven a door was opened, and the voice said,
‘Come up here, and I will show you the events that must take place after this.’”
