The book of Joshua records the
Isrealites entering Canaan from the east, by crossing the Jordan river. The miracle
at the sea was re-enacted at the Jordan.
The Egyptian army marches along the shore,
rendered as harmless stick-like figures. It appears to be on dry land, and the water
is as deceptive to us as to them. Is it still receding, or is it returning and
beginning to move in on the army?
